Of course, our events are a great opportunity to network with other Commercial Professionals, but this is not where benefits from being a member stop. At these events, we have great guest speakers that touch on topics that will educate you about our market changes and save you and your customers time and money.

Education is another benefit that NYC/LI NYSCAR provides. We strive to bring our members courses that are interesting and informative to our NYC/LI area. In 2025, NYSCAR is, again, offering free education to NYSCAR members each month via Zoom. Check the calendar each month to find out content and registration details.

Our Annual Statewide Conference is in June of each year. You will have the opportunity to participate in Marketing sessions, listen to great guest speakers with topics like economic forecasts, government issues and new rulings that affect our industry. At the conference, we also have educational opportunities with CE credits and some great courses that will not give you CE credit but will help you in business with topics like social media and technology. There was even a memory course a few years back.

Being a member of NYC/LI NYSCAR gives you a bigger voice in Albany. By adding your signature to lobby for or against issues that affect our industry, you will be part of the solution. Several years ago, we successfully overturned the 39 Year Depreciation Rule, bringing it back to 15 years. This was a direct result of the letters signed and sent from our Chapter.

There are many other benefits available to our membership: a Quarterly Newsletter, discounts at local and national retailers, Commercial related forms, grievance, and professional standards committees to enforce the high standard of ethical conduct and to arbitrate business between Commercial practitioners.
